We have been fans of Rebel Girls since they published their first book. As a mother, I want my children, regardless of gender, to be aware of the strong women in history who have helped shape the world despite being overlooked. I have to say, I have really enjoyed reading (Amazon affiliate link) Rebel Girls Lead with my kids. Not only has Rebel Girls provided a diverse list of female leaders, but they have included information about when these women were little girls. It’s one thing for kids to hear about adults doing fantastic feats. It is another for them to think about when these leaders were kids and how they, too, can grow up to change the world.
As each person only has a limited about of space devoted to them, information is not detailed. Admittedly, based on my own knowledge of history, some of the history glosses over some facts, but overall, Rebel Girls has once again produced a quality book.
