Jace Witherspoon shows up at his estranged older brother Christian’s apartment with a few dollars in his pocket, his camera, a rearranged face, and a secret that isn’t the only thing he is running from. Sometimes you can’t run though. Sometimes you have to stand up and face the past.
Swati Avashti’s book isn’t the typical book about domestic abuse. Those tend to view escape as the end of the abuse. Instead, Avashti’s book addresses the aftermath in all its mess. This is a wonderful YA book about the healing process after “the split” and about two brothers who must learn to face it together in order to stop the cycle.
